Pricing, Cancellation & Invoicing Policy
Hourly Rates
In-person tutoring: £45 per hour
Online tutoring: £40 per hour
Sessions are typically booked in hourly blocks unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Small Group Lessons (Online Only)
Small group lessons are available online only and are 1 hour in length. Groups can have up to 4 students.
Price: £20 per person, per 1-hour lesson. Each participant pays only for themself.
All participants are subject to the standard 24-hour cancellation policy. Late cancellations and no-shows will be charged £20.
If, due to cancellations/no-shows, only one participant is present at the scheduled start time, the attending participant’s booking adult may choose either:
- Continue as an hour long 1:1 lesson at £40 per hour
- Continue as a 1:1 for 30 mins only (standard rate £40 per hour).
- Cancel the lesson as a no-show (for the absent participants).
In either case, all no-shows will be charged £20.
Online Lesson Bundles (Prepaid)
Online lessons can be purchased in discounted bundles:
5 online lessons: £190 (equivalent to £38 per lesson)
10 online lessons: £360 (equivalent to £36 per lesson)
Bundles are for online 1:1 lessons only and must be paid in full before lessons begin.
Validity: Online bundle lessons are valid for 12 months from the purchase date. Any unused lessons after this period will expire.
In-Person Lessons: No Advance-Booking Discounts
No offers or discounts are available for in-person lessons, including when booking multiple sessions in advance.
In-person lessons are charged at £45 per hour.
24-Hour Cancellation Policy
I operate a 24-hour cancellation policy (industry standard):
Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the scheduled start time: no charge (or the session can be rescheduled, subject to availability).
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time (or no-shows): charged in full.
This applies to both online and in-person lessons, as well as small group lessons (see section 2).
For prepaid bundles, a late cancellation/no-show counts as a used lesson (i.e., the lesson is deducted from the bundle).
Rescheduling & Availability
Rescheduling requests made 24+ hours in advance are free, subject to availability.
Requests made within 24 hours are treated as late cancellations and charged in full.
I am not automatically available for new bookings. Before paying in advance (including for bundles), clients should contact me to arrange a free consultation to discuss suitability and current availability.
Availability is not guaranteed by paying in advance. A lesson slot is only confirmed once a date/time has been agreed in writing.
Priority for available slots will be given to existing clients.
Bundle Cancellations, Refunds & Early Termination (Online Bundles)
Online bundles are discounted on the understanding that the full block will be used. If a bundle is cancelled part way through and a refund is requested for unused lessons, the discount is withdrawn for the lessons already taken and an administration fee applies.
When cancelling an online bundle part way through:
Completed lessons are recalculated at the standard rate of £40 per lesson (i.e., the bundle discount is removed for lessons already delivered).
A £5 administration fee is charged for processing the cancellation and any refund.
The refund is calculated as: amount paid minus (standard rate for completed lessons) minus the £5 administration fee.
Examples
Example (5-lesson bundle):
If 3 lessons are used from a 5-lesson bundle (£190) and the remaining 2 are cancelled with a refund:
Standard price for 3 lessons = 3 × £40 = £120
Administration fee = £5
Refund = £190 − £120 − £5 = £65
Example (10-lesson bundle):
If 4 lessons are used from a 10-lesson bundle (£360) and the remaining 6 are cancelled with a refund:
Standard price for 4 lessons = 4 × £40 = £160
Administration fee = £5
Refund = £360 − £160 − £5 = £195
Invoicing & Payment Terms
For pay-as-you-go lessons, I will issue an invoice within 24 hours of the lesson being completed.
Invoices must be settled in full before the next lesson can commence.
For small group lessons, each participant is invoiced separately (unless agreed otherwise in writing).
Any fees due under this policy (including late cancellations, no-shows, bundle cancellation adjustments and the administration fee) must be paid before further lessons are confirmed or delivered.
Policy Acceptance
By booking a lesson or purchasing a bundle, the client confirms they have read and accept this Pricing, Cancellation & Invoicing Policy.
